Séamus Heaney was an Irish poet, playwright and translator. He received the 1995 Nobel Prize for Literature. Le Cercle Francais, in association with Queen's University organised a reading of his early poems as well as the evocation of personal anecdotes by his close friends. Some of the poems read (1966-1984) which were translated into French and published by Editions Gallimard, were recited as part of the event.
We had the pleasure of meeting Séamus wife, Marie, who told us stories about meeting St. Lucian writer Derek Walcott too as well as other stories.
